5-day milestone auto-approval, 8-day project auto-approval, and what happens if you don't respond.
Milestone auto-approval
When a developer submits a milestone for review, the client has 5 days to approve or request changes. If no action is taken within 5 days, the milestone is automatically approved and the escrowed funds are released to the developer. This protects developers from indefinite waiting.
Project auto-approval
For the final milestone or a full-payment project, there is an 8-day auto-approval window. If the client doesn't respond within 8 days of the developer's submission, the project is automatically marked as completed and all remaining escrowed funds are released.
Why auto-approval exists
Auto-approval ensures that developers are paid for completed work even if a client becomes unresponsive. Both parties are notified about upcoming auto-approvals so there's ample time to review. If you need more time, respond to the submission with feedback — this resets the clock.
