Setting Up Milestones
Create 2–8 milestones, split payment amounts, and preview fees.
Why use milestones?
Milestones break a project into smaller, manageable deliverables with their own funding and approval cycles. Instead of paying the full amount upfront and waiting for the complete product, you fund and review work incrementally. This reduces risk for both clients and developers.
Creating milestones
You can create between 2 and 8 milestones per project. Each milestone needs a title, description of the deliverable, and a payment amount. The total of all milestone amounts must equal the project price. You can define milestones when creating the project or add them later before work begins.
Splitting amounts
Divide the project price across milestones based on the relative complexity of each deliverable. For example, a $15K project might have: Milestone 1 — Foundation & Auth ($4K), Milestone 2 — Core Features ($5K), Milestone 3 — Integrations ($3.5K), Milestone 4 — Polish & Deploy ($2.5K). The fee preview shows the platform fee for each milestone so you know the exact cost.
